‘Berry Worry’ – an exhibition by Michelle Ardern.
In this series, Michelle masterfully blurs the boundaries between the macro and the micro, challenging viewers to shift their focus and see the world from a new angle. Her work combines drawing, installation, and her lifelong passion for photography, creating vibrant narratives through colours, sequences, and an intriguing sense of order within chaos.

Berry Worry
Michelle is an artist, mother, friend and community connector. In her work life, she is often the glue that holds together multi-party projects, and through this exhibition she plays a similar role. Her ability to connect into diverse communities is recognised by the creative roles she has played, creatively empowering and providing great placemaking opportunities throughout Avondale and Tāmaki Makaurau.
Michelle’s creativity overflows in this exhibition of all new work, in which she shares her unique perspective. She delves into the world of the miniature, turning the small into the profound and reflecting on her life, values, and the significance of the tiny details.
The collections on show include Pins; Pink Water; Studio works; Shells….. and there are always more ideas coming and developing for Michelle.

Presenting oneself through art is a courageous act, and Michelle pours her heart into every piece in this exhibition. While this journey is deeply personal, it has also been a collaborative effort, with family and friends providing support. Special thanks to Felix, Sonya, Stu, Edith, Val, Nina, Jody and many others who have been part of this creative adventure. Michelle’s work is an exploration of self and a celebration of the intricate connections that define our lives.
